Vehicle manufacturers do not recommend any specific brand of engine coolant; however, they do grant official approvals to products that have passed rigorous and comprehensive testing. When a vehicle leaves the factory, its cooling system is filled with an officially approved coolant, and these approved products can be replaced throughout the warranty period without affecting warranty coverage.

On average, an engine coolant must undergo around thirty different tests before receiving OEM approval. These tests include:

• Corrosion tests and compatibility assessments with all original cooling-system components

• Engine and vehicle performance tests under real operating conditions

• Engine manufacturers will not grant approval until the product successfully passes all of these demanding tests—a process that can take three to five years and requires significant investment. If any change is made to the coolant formulation, the entire approval process must be repeated from the beginning.
