Irgamet® 42 is manufactured by BASF Group (Germany) and imported and distributed directly by Viet Duc Joint Stock Company.
Irgamet 42 is a tolutriazole derivative, supplied as a clear brown liquid soluble in water and glycol, used as a metal deactivator.
Characteristics
Effectively protects copper and copper alloys from corrosion in aqueous systems with pH >7, is effective at low treat rates (0.1-0.3%), and has only limited solubility in mineral oil.
Applications
Used in engine coolants/antifreeze, water-based hydraulic fluids (HFA, HFC), and emulsion/synthetic metalworking fluids.
