Shell Omala S4 GXV 150 is a premium synthetic heavy duty industrial gear oil, approved by Siemens AG, providing outstanding lubrication performance under severe operating conditions, including reduced friction, long service life and high resistance to micropitting for optimal gear protection and excellent compatibility with seals.

Long oil life – Save maintenance costs

• Shell Omala S4 GXV 150 is formulated using an advanced additive system combined with special synthetic base oils to provide excellent resistance to breakdown over long periods of time and/or at high operating temperatures.
• Shell Omala S4 GXV 150 can operate successfully at oil bath temperatures up to 120°C.
• Shell Omala S4 GXV 150 has the ability to significantly extend oil change intervals compared to conventional gear oils.

Excellent corrosion and abrasion resistance

• Shell Omala S4 GXV 150 is formulated to provide excellent load carrying capacity and micro-pitting resistance to help prolong equipment life even under shock loading conditions.
• These properties provide superior gear and bearing life advantages over mineral oils.
• Shell Omala S4 GXV 150 also has excellent corrosion resistance even in the presence of water and solid residues.

Maintain system performance

• Shell Omala S4 GXV 150 can help maintain or improve industrial gear system performance through improved low-temperature performance and lower friction characteristics compared to mineral oil-based products.
• This helps provide better lubrication at low starting temperatures.

Main applications

Engine gear systems and other hard-to-reach equipment

Shell Omala S4 GXV 150 is particularly recommended in certain systems requiring extremely long life, infrequent maintenance or systems that are difficult to access.

Good compatibility with paint and sealing materials

• Recommended for industrial gearboxes using a variety of seals, including nitrile rubber and fluoroelastomers.
• Meets Siemens requirements for Flender motor gearboxes and gears.

Closed industrial gear systems

• Recommended for industrial gear reduction gears operating under harsh conditions such as heavy loads, very low or very high temperatures or wide temperature variations.

Other applications

• Shell Omala S4 GXV 150 is suitable for lubricating bearings and other equipment in circulating or splash lubrication systems.
• For heavily loaded worm drives, the Shell Omala “W” series is recommended.
• For automotive hypoid transmissions, the appropriate Shell Spirax should be used.

• Avoid skin contact. Use impermeable gloves with used oil. If skin contact occurs, wash immediately with soap and water.

Environmental protection

• Collect used oil to designated collection points.
